Breast augmentation enhances or enlarges the size of the breasts using implants. Since the beginning of breast augmentation surgery in the early 1960’s, millions of women have enhanced their bodies with silicone and saline breast implants. Breast Augmentation has become one of the most commonly plastic surgery procedures in the United States.
Women who choose to have breast augmentation do it for many reasons, including boosting their self-esteem and body image. Many patients are simply trying to increase their breast size to make them more proportionate to their body, while others may want to balance their breasts if they appear to be different sizes or shapes. Often women want this procedure to restore their natural breast size that may have decreased due to pregnancy, weight loss or aging.
Newport Beach plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Elam has performed thousands of breast augmentation procedures and they continue to be a mainstay of his practice. “It is important to find an experienced surgeon and to establish a good rapport. Feel free to ask to speak to former patients about their experience. You will be pleased to discover how breast augmentation can make you feel youthful, and more attractive than ever before.” -Dr. Elam

Plastic Surgery Michigan – In any surgery there
are risks to be considered. Some may be rare, whereas scarring is merely a matter of keeping it inconspicuous. Whatever benefits one hopes to gain from a surgical procedure, there are potential complications and disadvantages one may acquire in the exchange. It’s important to know what you want, and it is equally important to share your goals with a qualified, conscientious surgeon who will help you navigate the prizes and pitfalls of the improvements you intend to make. A doctor who will candidly inform you about every aspect of your procedure is invaluable. For a breast lift in Michigan, for example, you might schedule a consultation with Dr. Bazzi.

Most women who have sagging or extremely large breasts can be both physically and emotionally uncomfortable. According to Dr. Placik, a Chicago plastic surgeon, they may suffer from back and neck pain, irritation under the breasts and soreness where brassiere straps cut into their shoulders. These women may also be self-conscious about their breast size. Furthermore, it may be difficult for them to find attractive clothing that fits properly; sometimes it is necessary to buy costly custom-made clothing and supportive garments. For these women, a breast reduction may be necessary.

There have been recent advances in breast surgery techniques that allow for breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasy, that uses tumescent liposuction alone which is scarless. Los Angeles plastic surgeons perform scarless breast reduction only in selected candidates, and may be performed without any of the traditional reduction surgery scars. Patients can demonstrate a 30-50% reduction in size of their breasts.
Breast reduction by liposuction alone will produce a smaller version of the breasts that a woman had before liposuction. The breast’s overall shape will be very similar to their shape before liposuction. Advantages of breast reduction by liposuction over traditional methods include significantly fewer visible scars, faster recovery, less discomfort, and fewer post-operative complications.

Any woman facing mastectomy also faces another difficult decision, the desire for and timing of reconstructive breast surgery. While the procedure is able to be performed many years after the mastectomy, recent advances encourage that women undergo simultaneous removal and reconstruction. If you have breast reconstruction performed at the same time you will receive many emotional advantages: a reduced period of postoperative discouragement in appearance, the avoidance of a non-reconstructed breast, the avoidance of potentially unnatural appearing breast implants, and an improved sense of self-confidence and self-esteem. According to Dr. Hoefflin, a Los Angeles plastic surgeon, having the procedure performed simultaneously also offers several surgical advantages: preservation of native breast skin on the reconstructed breast, greater symmetry in shape and volume, and the avoidance of another major general anesthetic procedure.

Breast reduction surgery, also known as reduction mammaplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to remove excess fat, glandular tissue and skin from the breasts. Many women with large breasts choose to have breast reduction surgery to alleviate pain and discomfort or to achieve a breast size that is more proportionate with her body. Breast reduction surgery can also help improve self-image and self-confidence, as well as your ability active physically.
If you are considering breast reduction surgery, it is important to consult an experienced plastic surgeon regarding surgical details including any possible risks or complications involved and to set expectations that are realistic.

Breast augmentation, more commonly referred to as augmentation mammoplasty is a plastic surgery procedure that is used to enhance the shape and size of a woman’s breasts for many different reasons. According to Dr. Ameen Habash, a Palm Desert plastic surgeon, the reasons include but are not limited to: To balance a difference in size between two breasts; to enhance the body contour of a woman who feels her breast size is too small; to correct breast volume after a woman loses volume due to pregnancy; as a reconstructive procedure following any other breast surgery. By placing an implant behind each breast, plastic surgeons are capable of increasing the bust-line of a woman by one or more bra cup sizes.

There are many factors that will take their toll upon a woman’s breasts after many years. These factors include nursing and pregnancy and the force of gravity. When the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts will usually lose some of their shape and firmness and begin to sag. A plastic surgery procedure known as a mastopexy, or breast lift, is designed to fight against those affects of aging. The procedure will raise and reshape sagging breasts at least for a time.
A breast lift surgery can also reduce the size of a woman’s areola which is the darker skin that is around the nipple. In the case that your breasts have lost volume or are small, breast implants inserted during the procedure can greatly increase their size and their firmness.
According to Palm Desert plastic surgeon, Dr. Ameen Habash, the biggest reason that a woman seeks a breast lift is because nursing and pregnancy have left them with less volume and stretched skin in their breasts. If a woman is planning on having children, or more children, she should postpone the idea of having a breast lift until after she is done having children. There are no special risks that would affect a future pregnancy (mastopexy generally does not interfere with breast-feeding), pregnancy is more than likely going to stretch your breasts again and remove the results of the procedure.
