Rhinoplasty, or surgery to reshape the nose, is a fairly common procedure. Rhinoplasty surgery can reduce or increase the size of the nose, change the shape of the tip or bridge, narrow the span of the nostrils or change the angle between the nose and upper lip. Rhinoplasty is ideal for patients who wish to enhance the esthetics of their nose. In patients who have difficulty breathing, rhinoplasty may help them breath more normally. Because the nose is the most defining characteristic of the face, a slight alteration can greatly improve one’s appearance.

The reason for an extensive consultation is that it takes time to educate the patient about breast implant surgery. Most patients have consulted the internet prior to their visit to our office. Many have had consultations with other plastic surgeons. Some have learned about breast surgery from friends who have had augmentation mammaplasty. Exceptional results from breast augmentation can only be achieved when a surgeon and his patient are willing to invest the time to talk about and plan the procedure.

We are fortunate today that over the past 30 years breast implants and techniques have evolved into improved breast procedures. Breast augmentation enhances the size and shape of a women’s breast by either placing the implant on top of or underneath the pectoralis muscle. This procedure can improve the self esteem of a woman who for her own reasons feels her breast size is too small or misshaped.

We will review pre and post op pictures of our breast augmentation patients so that you will not only be able to see our results but also give us an opinion about the size that you desire. We will also discuss the type of material to be used for your breast implant as well as the anatomical location above or below the muscle and the type of incision recommended. We will send you home with material to read before your next consultation to further your understanding of the procedure. It is our desire to give you the best artistic result with the latest technology and using the newest generation of breast implants.

An abdominoplasty is an operation in which the loose skin and fat of the abdominal wall, particularly around the navel, is removed by elevation of the skin and fat, pulling it inferiorly and excising the excess. It is particularly effective in removing stretch marks from the lower abdomen, but it must be understood that not all stretch marks can be eliminated. The navel is reinserted into the skin after the tightening procedure.

Frequently, particularly after childbirth or weight loss, patients present with a weakness of the abdominal wall muscles and fascia; in such cases, the defect between the anterior muscles is repaired before trimming the excess skin and fat.

This procedure is frequently combined with other abdominal surgery; for example, the abdominoplasty may be performed at the same time that your gynecologist performs a hysterectomy or other procedure.

You must accept the judgment of your plastic surgeon and realize that he will remove as much as is safe and suitable to obtain the optimum result in each case. The operation is directed toward an improvement and does not in any way guarantee complete obliteration of all folds and stretch marks.

The type of skin and age of the patient are factors in the overall result to be obtained. The operation should not be undertaken if the patient intends pregnancies in the foreseeable future. While it is not necessary for the patient to reach a certain weight before surgery can be performed, it is desirable that the patient’s weight be stable for at least six months prior to surgery and that the patient be at a weight he/she feels can be maintained after the procedure.

A usual question is, “How long will it last?” This is impossible to state. Factors affecting the length of the result include age at- the time of operation, physical conditioning afterward, type of skin, and alterations in weight. In general, it is not necessary to repeat the procedure to maintain the optimal result.

Atlanta Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – When you take into consideration all the things that can conspire to make a woman feel dissatisfied with her breasts, it’s much easier to see how breast surgery has become so common. Age and the passage of time can diminish skin’s elasticity and rob the breasts of their internal support, causing them to lose their shape and begin to reach for the floor. A woman’s own genetics can give her especially large or small breasts, and even a little of both. Besides making their owner self-conscious, breasts that differ significantly from each other add a certain degree of difficulty to finding clothes that fit. Pregnancy and nursing can bring about a veritable roller-coaster ride of changes to the breasts, puffing them up and stretching the skin, then leaving them deflated and saggy. Any one of these factors can affect a woman’s sense of self, and that can influence every other facet of her life. Dr. Davoudi has stated that one of the benefits of his profession is that it provides him a way to improve others’ lives.

TV’s not the same animal it was just a few short decades ago. Do you remember the days described by comedian Jeff FoxworthyPlastic Surgeon in Michigan, when there were only three television channels? “And if the president was on, your night was shot”? It isn’t just the number of stations that has exploded. The content those stations carry has expanded as well. Maybe it has more to do with where and when I was raised than I give it credit for, but what I recall of plastic surgery in the ’80s had more to do with tut-tutting the latest changes to Michael Jackson’s nose than any amount of TV coverage. There’s a Plastic Surgery Channel, today. In the ’90s there was the flap over whether silicone breast implants spelled Armageddon. Today, the proudly-augmented go on Oprah (and shows like it) where we learn that we, too, may be surgically immortalized.

Television and reality never have kept much company, least of all on “reality shows.” In my experience, reality usually falls into the bland middle-ground between the highs and lows that producers see fit to broadcast. It’s true that there have been exciting surgical advances, with greater promise ahead. However informative or even unbiased a media article (or blog post) may be, however, it can’t provide the whole story because surgery, whatever its purpose or practitioner, is as dependent on physiology as it is on science. The only way to get the whole story as it applies to you is by getting in a room with a surgeon who can match up where you are with where you want to go. Preparation helps, too: bring along a list of specific questions to ask of your doctor. Listen carefully to and honestly consider his recommendations, especially the ones you did not anticipate. Remember that doctors are people, and if you consult with more than one, you may hear more than one recommendation, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. And don’t be too insistent upon a particular procedure. As Michigan plastic surgeon, Dr. John Sampson, M.D., explains, “If you ask enough doctors to perform a cosmetic procedure that may be detrimental to you, eventually you will find one who will do it.”
