Liposuction is a cosmetic, body contouring procedure available here in Utah at Dr. Berg’s cosmetic plastic surgery practice. This procedure is designed to remove
stubborn fat deposits from various areas of the body including the abdomen, hips, buttocks, thighs, knees, upper arms, chin, cheeks and neck. Certain individuals possess stubborn fat deposits that do not respond to traditional weight-loss methods such as dieting and exercise. However liposuction is not a substitute for dieting and exercise, but it is designed to sculpt the body into a more aesthetically pleasing contour. This cosmetic surgery procedure offers a solution to individuals that are around their normal weight but still have pockets of excess fat in certain areas, making these areas look disproportionate.

It is important that you understand that no person is perfectly symmetrical from one side to the other even before a surgical procedure. Every attempt will be made during surgery to minimize your side to side dissimilarities, but such differences always persist to some degree even after the most successful operation.
There is no evidence that breast surgery alters the possibility of developing breast cancer. Mammography techniques have improved in recent years. In spite of these advances, there is a theoretical risk of compromised detection of early breast cancer following an augmentation mammoplasty. If a cancer were to develop, its detection by mammography could be made more difficult, depending on the location of the cancer within the breast, the position and size of the implant and the type of implant employed. Regardless of your decision to have an augmentation mammoplasty or not, it will still be necessary for you to examine yourself monthly for breast lumps and undergo mammography as suggested by your personal physician.

Augmentation mammoplasty is done on an outpatient basis in a surgical center, usually under sedation or
general anesthesia. An implant (prosthesis) is placed through an incision, under the breast tissue or under the muscle. The incision can be made under the breast, around the nipple or under the arm. A breast implant is composed of an outer silicone shell filled with saline or silicone gel. The outer surface may be smooth or textured, and implants come in various shapes to meet the individual woman’s needs.

A Tummy Tuck Abdominoplasty is an operation in which the loose skin and fat of the abdominal wall, particularly around the navel, is removed by elevation of the skin and fat, pulling it inferiorly and excising the excess. It is particularly effective in removing stretch marks from the lower abdomen, but it must be understood that not all stretch marks can be eliminated. The navel is reinserted into the skin after the tightening procedure.
Frequently, particularly after childbirth or weight loss, patients present with a weakness of the abdominal wall muscles and fascia; in such cases, the defect between the anterior muscles is repaired before trimming the excess skin and fat.
This procedure is frequently combined with other abdominal surgery; for example, the abdominoplasty may be performed at the same time that your gynecologist performs a hysterectomy or other procedure.
For more information about this procedure, contact the office of Dr. Gerlach, a board certified plastic surgeon in Torrance, California.

Face lift procedures are among the most commonly performed aesthetic procedures at Dr. Gerlach’s office. Most people feel physically and mentally vigorous and energetic long after their appearance has begun to deteriorate due to aging. A face lift procedure is designed to provide you with a rejuvenated appearance. The degree of improvement achieved depends on the severity of the initial deformity and the age of the patient.
A face lift surgery may be beneficial whenever you have too much sagging of the facial or neck skin. In a younger patient with minimal sagging, the degree of improvement will be subtle, but frequently the result is extremely satisfying to the patient caring about personal appearance.
If you are interested in having a face lift or would like more information about this procedure, contact the office of Dr. Todd Gerlach, a board certified plastic surgeon in Torrance, CA. Dr. Gerlach specializes in all aspects of plastic, cosmetic and reconstructive surgery including breast augmentation, facelift and rhinoplasty in Torrance.

Facial Plastic Surgeon San Diego – Calling a nose job primary or secondary might make it sound as though like someone’s got multiple noses,
and with enough leaping and contortion of one’s logic, one might imagine a two-faced patient. In reality, of course, primary rhinoplasty simply refers to a particular patient’s first nose surgery, and secondary rhinoplasty is any nose surgery performed later.
Regarding the differences between primary and secondary rhinoplasty, San Diego plastic surgeon Dr. Amir Karam cautions; “The first operation offers the best opportunity to obtain an excellent and predictable outcome. Seeking out a rhinoplasty specialist for this first operation significantly increases the chances of obtaining an excellent rhinoplasty result and decreases your chances of a revision.” Nasal surgery is especially demanding, due in part to the specialized techniques, and a surgeon skilled in those techniques can mean the difference between a positive outcome and secondary rhinoplasty.

Plastic Surgery Carson City – Of the many reasons to seek plastic surgery, many are rooted in a dissatisfaction with some body part or another, but not all. Breast enhancement through the use of either
saline or silicone implants is among the most popular cosmetic surgeries in the United States, but would obviously be no help at all to a woman suffering from the painful effects of excessively large breasts. What might not be so easy to determine, however, is whether a woman considering implants to regain volume lost to time, child bearing, or other factors would be better served by a mastopexy, or breast lift. A face lift can help you look years younger, but could a procedure such as an eyelid lift provide similar results? Liposuction is not a way to lose weight, but is an effective way to deal with fat deposits that are unresponsive to diet and exercise.
A candid consultation with the right surgeon will help you find the answers to questions such as these and more. Dr. Kent Gabriel is committed to a “therapeutic alliance” with his patients, from his “lengthy and informative” pre-operative contacts to help you make the safest, best decision for your self, to his surgical techniques and post-operative care. If you’ve been thinking about breast augmentation, perhaps you should consider your breast augmentation in Carson City, NV.

A Tubal ligation reversal surgery in Los Angeles is a minimally invasive micro surgical procedure designed to restore fertility to women who have previously had a tubal ligation surgery. During a Tubal Ligation Reversal Surgery, the surgeon makes a small incision in the lower area of the abdomen. Through this incision, the surgeon rejoins any separated segments of the fallopian tube and remove any clamps or devices. In most cases, if there are no other issues with fertility are present, there exists a sixty to ninety percent chance of a successful pregnancy within one year after having tubal ligation reversal procedure.

With the current economy money is tight and many people are cutting back on their spending, which in turn affects nearly every industry in the United States, and in some cases, the world. The cosmetic surgery industry has hit harder than other industries. This is most likely due tot he fact that most every plastic or cosmetic surgery procedure performed today is considered an elective surgery- or in other words- not a necessary surgery procedure required to maintain life.
Over the past few years, the plastic and cosmetic surgery industry has experienced a steep decline in the number of all procedures performed, but especially the very popular procedures such as Breast enhancement, Body contouring procedures such as liposuction and Abdominoplasty. In reality, it is no real secret why these ever-popular surgical procedures have suddenly become less popular. elective surgeries such as these can cost thousands of dollars, and most people are looking for less expensive solutions for looking younger.

A Chemical peel procedure consists of a chemical solution applied tot eh skin in order to to improve the appearance and create a smoothing effect to the skin’s texture. The Chemical solution will “strip away” the skin’s damaged outer layers. In many cases a chemical peel procedure can be combined with a face lift surgery procedure.
It is important to note that a chemical peel procedure is not a substitute for face lift surgery and a chemical peel will not slow or stop the natural aging process Your plastic surgeon will provide information about certain types of chemical peel treatments and the results you might expect. It won’t answer all your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Once you and your plastic surgeon have decided on a specific peel program, be sure to ask about any details that you do not understand.

“If you keep making that face, it is going to stay that way permanently.”
I remember my mom used to tell us kids that frequently, especially when one of us would make a frustrated face or dare to shoot mom an angry glance. Little did I realize that as I got older, Mom’s wisdom would become more fact than fiction.
Every year we grow older, our skin also ages. Our aging skin along with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles are the result of what could be the combination of a multitude of various factors. In addition to the normal changes to our skin cells, the loss of hormones and decreased collagen production, we also experience changes to areas surrounding the face such as the brow/forehead area caused by muscle contractions.
We have all seen the effects that muscle contractions have on the skin. Are you familiar with those vertical lines that appear between your brows? Those are commonly referred to as “11′s” and are the result from repeated muscle contractions. every time you concentrate, squint, or frown, the muscles that control your brow movement contract. Over time, this will cause the brow skin to furrow and fold. After years of repeated brow contractions, those 11′s can begin to stay prominent, even after your brow muscles are relaxed. Gee, maybe Mom was right after all.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that temporarily treats the fine lines and wrinkles caused by aging and muscle contractions by blocking nerve signals to the muscles in the treatment area. BOTOX® cosmetic achieves this by “stunning” the muscles, thereby reducing the muscle activity that is causing the prominent lines to form between the brows. A BOTOX treatment session consists of a few injection administered by your plastic surgeon. The procedure only takes a few minutes, and there is no down time.

What about liposuction? Is it still a viable option for someone who wants to rid himself or herself of unwanted weight? A good candidate for liposuction is someone who is in fairly good shape, relatively close to his or her ideal weight, but wants to trim down localized areas. The person should be physically healthy, psychologically stable with realistic expectations.
The fat will not re-accumulate in these areas in the same manner as before and leaves small, if any, scars. Newport Beach Plastic Surgeon Dr Boris Ackerman states” I perform hundreds of liposuction procedures each year. I have many patients who come to me after they have given birth and request liposuction. Even though they have returned to their previous weight, many of these women have some resistant areas as a result of the pregnancy.”

Breast enhancement and breast lift surgery procedures are suitable solutions for women suffering from postpartum depression and are also unhappy with the shape of their breasts following pregnancy and nursing. Most women, after having children, begin to lose tissue volume in the upper part of the chest, resulting in a hollowed appearance in the upper breast.
The medical term used to describe sagging of the breasts is breast ptosis. In such cases, the plastic surgeon may elect to perform a breast lift procedure (also referred to as a Mastopexy). The surgeon may also insert a breast implant in the breast to restore the lost volume. The size of a woman’s breasts depends on the volume of breast tissue. If a patient has sufficient volume, only a simple lift is required in order to provide a tighter, more youthful appearing skin envelope, thus allowing the breasts to stand high and firm.

Because of this, body contouring surgery continue to gain popularity at a fast rate. Body Contouring surgery procedures such as liposuction, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), especially when combined as a or full or complete body lift surgery, that improve your body shape and form as well as provide a boost to your self esteem, self image and confidence.

Women with under-developed breasts can be self conscious. In the same manner, women with large, heavy breasts also experience the same feelings of being self conscious, and struggling with thoughts of poor self image. Over-development of a woman’s breasts can potentially be at the root cause various issues involving self-esteem, self-confidence and self image. In addition, large, heavy pendulous breasts also contribute an added difficulty for physical activity, posture, backaches and undesired attention in public. Breast Reduction Surgery can help to treat all of these issues associated with overly large breasts.
Over the course of many years, plastic surgeons have worked to perfect the short scar approach to reduce the size of the breasts, which, in turn relieves back pain, promotes better posture, and improves the shape and contour of the breasts.
Insurance plans may cover breast reduction surgery. However, denial by an insurance plan or a request by that plan for a harsh or excessive reduction prompts many patients to go outside the ordinary insurance coverage to seek help. Anyone considering the surgery procedure, should first consult with a plastic surgeon and research the procedure. This is an important step and one that should not be taken lightly.

Lip augmentation is a procedure designed to increase the size of the lips in order to create a fuller and more attractive lip. The Lip Augmentation procedure is a safe procedure used by both women and men of all ages. Each lip may be treated separately from each other, or as a combined procedure.
In the last ten years, the lip augmentation procedure has become one of the more popular cosmetic procedures, especially among women. There are two main approaches to lip augmentation. One type utilizes natural or man made synthetic fillers to achieve the desired lip size. The results of using fillers are, in most cases temporary and repeat treatments will be required to maintain the result. Another approach is a surgical technique where the plastic surgeon relocates lip tissue from the inside to the outside of the lip.

Breast reduction in Los Angeles serves various purposes for different people. Enlarged, pendulous breasts cause a variety of problems. The medical term for this problem is mammary hyperplasia. The weight of the breasts pulls down on the bra straps which in turn produces indentation of the shoulder skin and discomfort. Along with shoulder and back pain, the surface under the breast may rub against the chest skin producing an irritating rash. Some women even experience difficulty with breathing because of enlarged breasts. Upon the removal of glandular tissue, fat and skin, a lighter, more attractive breast can be created. The lessened pressure on the chest alleviates overall discomfort and improves respiration.
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The operation takes about three to four hours to perform. Sutures are removed within one week. Depending upon the size of the breasts, we perform the surgery either at one of our associated hospitals or at The Keyes Surgicenter. Those patients who choose the surgicenter are then transferred to an aftercare facility for one night.
For more information about breast reduction, contact the office of Dr. Geoffrey Keyes, a board certified plastic surgeon in Los Angeles who specializes in all aspects of plastic surgery.

Brow lift surgery, also referred to as a “forehead Lift”, is cosmetic surgery procedure that is meant to restore a youthful, refreshed look to the forehead area. This procedure corrects sagging or drooping of the forehead skin and treats the horizontal lines and’ furrows’ that make a person appear tired, sad or angry.
During Brow Lift surgery, the plastic surgeon removes and/or tightens the muscles and tissue that are the cause the brow to ‘furrow’ and also to minimize frown lines. The surgeon may choose to utilize a conventional surgical method, during which the incision is strategically placed to be hidden just under the hair line. Alternatively the surgeon may choose to perform your brow lift procedure with the use of an endoscope. The endoscope is a viewing instrument that allows some surgical procedures to be successfully performed with small incisions. Both surgical methods provide similar results – a smoother, more youthful appearance to the forehead skin and creating a more animated appearance.

Many women feel that their breasts do not match their overall body physique. Small breast size may be due to a lack of normal breast development or to a decrease of breast volume following pregnancy or menopause. This procedure is designed to give the female patient a fuller breast.
Your breast tissue is not altered by a breast enlarging procedure. This operation is performed by placing an implant behind your own breast tissue, simply pushing it forward and enlarging the appearance of the breast. Most patients have been exceedingly pleased with this operative procedure.
The increase in breast size will be limited by the tightness of your skin, but significant improvement can usually be achieved. The final decision regarding implant size must be made by the surgeon during the operation, but size will be discussed with you before the procedure and every effort will be made to create an optimal breast for you.
It is important that you understand that no person is perfectly symmetrical from one side to the other even before a surgical procedure. Every attempt will be made during surgery to minimize your side to side dissimilarities, but such differences always persist to some degree even after the most successful operation.

All women, whether or not they are contemplating breast augmentation, are encouraged to obtain a baseline mammogram at age 35 (or even sooner if you have a family history of breast cancer) and a yearly mammogram after the age of 40.
Normal breast function should not be altered by an augmentation procedure in which the incision is placed within the axilla and the implant positioned behind the pectoral muscle. Although not all women are able to breast feed even without a breast operation, this procedure should not alter the ability to breast feed should this become desirable later. One cannot, however, rule out possible effects on future pregnancy and nursing, particularly when incisions are placed around the areolae (“nipple incision”). – Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Torrance CA
